About NJGuns.net
Independent guidance, with a visible verification process.
NJGuns.net is an independent educational project. It is not affiliated with the State of New Jersey, and its guides are not legal advice or individualized legal interpretation.
Who maintains this site
The site is maintained by an independent publisher. We do not claim that the content is reviewed by, written by, or maintained by a New Jersey-licensed attorney. When a situation turns on individual facts, criminal exposure, eligibility, or an unclear classification, use the linked primary sources and consult a qualified New Jersey attorney.
How a guide is verified
- Open every linked portal, agency page, statute, regulation, and court order.
- Compare each procedural or legal claim with the primary source cited beside it.
- Record the page review date and the last-checked date for every source.
- Record substantive corrections and completed review cycles on the changes page.
Community questions can help identify confusing topics, but they are not authority for a legal claim. The published guides terminate at government sources.
Review cadence and triggers
Every guide is scheduled for review monthly. An event-driven review also begins when a bill amending N.J.S.A. 2C:58 or 2C:39 reaches a floor vote, a published opinion or material order changes the carry or sensitive-place litigation, or NJSP changes FARS, the carry portal, or its firearms guidance. A completed review gets a changes entry even when no copy changes.
Corrections
Email corrections@njguns.net with the page, disputed sentence, and primary source. We aim to review correction reports within seven calendar days. Accepted substantive corrections are dated on the changes page.
What this site will not do
It will not decide whether a particular person is eligible, classify a specific firearm from a description, predict a court result, or replace advice from a lawyer who knows the facts.
